iNEST – Spoke 5 (2022-25)

iNEST stands for Interconnected Nord-Est Innovation Ecosystem. iNEST is a 110 million euros 2022 PNRR project, aimed at extending the benefits of digital technologies to the main areas of specialization of the North-East Italy (Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Veneto and Trento + Bolzano): the industrial-manufacturing, agriculture, sea, mountains, construction, tourism, culture, health and food. The University of Verona is involved in the Spoke 5: Smart And Sustainable Environments (Manufacturing, Working, Living)

Smart And Sustainable Environments (Manufacturing, Working, Living)

The Spoke’s shared goal is the development of innovative, smart, sustainable, digitally-driven working and living environments within a human-centric design framework. The global scenario in which the Spoke moves its steps is the transition from the so-called 4.0 revolution to the new 5.0 paradigm. Its socio-technical vision considers sustainability, quality of life, inclusion and psychological well-being as indispensable outcomes. Four Research Tasks (RTs) are involved:

  • RT1: New and Emerging Technologies for Human Centric Manufacturing and other industrial working environments
  • RT2: Digital Twin in Industries 5.0
  • RT3: People, organization, and processes for Industry 5.0
  • RT4: Personalized Assistive Technologies and Smart Environments for Inclusive Living in private and public spaces

INTELLIGO Labs and iNEST

INTELLIGO Labs are involved In RT2: Digital Twin in Industries 5.0 with the following mission

  • Develop industrial application of X-Realities based digital twins

INTELLIGO Labs are involved In RT4: Personalized Assistive Technologies and Smart Environments for Inclusive Living in private and public spaces, with the following missions

  • Ensuring that people with disabilities are safe at their home
  • Providing safety measures as features of new domotic systems
  • Investigating how houses can learn from their owners
  • Advanced sensory systems
  • Investigating Augmented Reality to assist people
