INTELLIGO Labs is starting a new journey to expand horizons and start new collaborations with the African continent!
We got two papers accepted to an IEEE Region 8 conference, the IEEE International Multi-Conference Smart Systems & Green Processing.
The first paper introduces a low-cost IoT-based system for continuous monitoring of coma patients, designed to address the challenges of resource-constrained healthcare settings, especially in developing countries. By using affordable biometric sensors, energy-efficient microcontrollers, and intermittent data synchronization, the system provides effective monitoring with minimal reliance on internet connectivity or medical staff, ensuring timely alerts and ease of deployment for under $30.
The second study develops a state-of-the-art handwriting recognition system for the ancient Ethiopic script, Ge’ez, using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks. By employing a two-stage recognition process, the system achieves superior accuracy compared to eight leading methods, advancing the digitization and preservation of Ge’ez manuscripts with broad implications for cultural heritage.
We look forward to start networking!
